We are getting excited because our project is nearing completion. After all the delays and missed deadlines…we can see the light at the end of the (proverbial) tunnel.
One of my team members sent me a text to warn me not to “jump the gun”. He knew me well…that I tend to get enthusiastic and immediately start rolling things out. But, he knew there are many tasks left in the project:
- We need to show the system to our leader(s) to make sure we have delivered what was asked for.
- We need to invite “insider” participants to test the system to see if we can uncover any defects or areas that need improvement
- We need to confirm our marketing and release plans
THEN….it will be time to start rolling out the system.
What about you? Where do you tend to jump the gun?
Thanks for listening.
