Okay – I just made up the term but that doesn’t make it any less real.
Our productivity is elastic. That means that sometimes we can stretch ourselves farther and work harder and get more done in the same length of time. We can become more efficient, higher skilled, more focused, and less distracted.
- If we do not embrace compression, we fail to achieve our God-given potential.
- If we pursue compression unwisely, we hit a wall, burn ourselves out, and actually experience fewer results than we began with.
Compression is the best way to grow as a leader. As I hit my limits and privately decide “this is all I can handle”, along comes another problem that needs to be solved. When I learned to embrace “more than I can handle”…I discovered that I can grow my capacity and handle even more than I imagined.
Allow your leader to stretch you through project compression. Ask for more than you can handle….and discover new breakthroughs in your productivity.
Thanks for listening.
