Recently, someone at church stopped me to brag on my wife. She holds numerous part-time positions…often filling in when others are out on vacation, pregnancy leave, or other reasons. Over the years, she has become proficient at many different jobs and skills.
He said something like this: “I love working with her, because her high level of execution is revealing…it shows where we have gaps.” As we talked, he described how her exemplary job performance encouraged and motivated him to do likewise.
Not only do I love to hear that my wife is a high performer, but I love to hear when people are motivated by others who execute well.
How about you? Do high performers motivate or intimidate you?
Thanks for listening.
