Every project has deadlines. They all have that fierce, unrelenting deadline at the finish line. Usually, tensions within the team rise higher and higher as they approach. When things get tense, miscommunications happen. The project is at risk.
This weekend is a deadline for our team here at 12Stone. We have been preparing for months to launch the big fall series. ATM (“At The Movies“) is full of film clips and custom videos. We have completely redesigned our lobby to become a movie set. We are launching 500 new Small Groups this week…with over 100 new leaders. And this is just at one of our 4 campuses!
So, we’re running at full speed. There are deadlines approaching this Sunday that are not negotiable. I am not the project manager for all these aspects of the fall launch. But the team still needs something from me. They need me to infuse fresh hope in every encounter. They need my encouragement to stay focused on the end goal. They need me to offer help, not obstacles. They need grace from me for those big (and little) things that happen in the final minutes before the deadline.
And your team probably needs that from you too.
Thanks for listening.
