Organizations, companies, and project teams always have a lot of plates spinning. Each of us are carrying multiple responsibilities…and we are often running at high rates of speed to get things done.
It is common to be in the middle of a project when someone comes along – and they are often in positions of authority – to ask us to perform a task.
When that task has financial implications like:
- Renting equipment
- Buying supplies
- Contracting professional services
…the WORST time to ask “Who pays for this?” is AFTER the expense has been made.
Don’t wait until you get the invoice to say “Oh – by the way – whose budget covers this expense?” Otherwise, you might be the one paying after the dust settles.
Thanks for listening.
