Some college professors like to give a “Last Lecture” where they ruminate on what matters most in life and to deliver what wisdom they would impart if they were facing their last days. Randy Pausch was an engineering professor at Carnegie Mellon University who got the chance to do exactly that. After being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer…and having only a few months to live…he decided to share his thoughts on life and death. He delivered the lessons that he wished he could have shared with his 3 kids.
This is a true story.
If you have the time, here is the YouTube video of that lecture. But I am writing to recommend his book instead. He words of wisdom need to be soaked up slowly and absorbed with full attention. I laughed at his humor and cried with his family. His words are pure genius.
Invest some time and let him share with you.
Thanks for listening.
