One of my best memories from moving my grandmother last weekend was the time I spent with my brother. We worked side-by-side to clean out her basement, to move furniture, and to make numerous trips to the dump.
Since we live 300 miles apart, we don’t have many opportunities to spend time together.
We could have split up to cover more ground in less time. We could have worked faster by not talking and staying focused on the task. But, I will always cherish our conversations and time spent together. It would have been a mistake to be more “efficient”.
Be careful to include opportunities for your project team to work together, even at the risk of some lost progress. Let’s not become so effective that we loose what is most dear to us.
Thanks for listening.
