My friend Randy Davis asked for some book suggestions.
Leadership and Self Deception is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. It is written as an allegory, sharing the story of a man who struggles at work and at home. The lessons taught through this book have changed my life.
This is from Amazon: “Through a story everyone can relate to about a man facing challenges on the job and in his family, the authors expose the fascinating ways that we can blind ourselves to our true motivations and unwittingly sabotage the effectiveness of our own efforts to achieve success and increase happiness.”
Donald H. McGannon (who ran the Westinghouse Broadcasting Corporation and served as President of the National Urban League) said “Leadership is action, not position.”
If you read this book and apply it, you will be a true leader indeed.
Thanks for listening.
