A friend of mine has an iPhone 4 with an old iOS operating system and outdated apps. He is frustrated when it doesn’t work correctly and he isn’t willing to let anyone bring his device up to date (for fear they will mess up his stuff).
I understand…I really do. I tend to be slow with the updates because I hate to find out the hard way when new bugs are introduced.
But this article really opened my eyes and helped me understand. Developers know that all software has bugs…and they are constantly at work trying to get rid of them. Every new release includes repair of broken code AND introduces new features.
- Turn all software updates to automatic
- Upgrade the hardware for mission critical devices
- Ask your IT department (or IT friends) if you have any questions
Thanks for listening.
