People make mistakes. It is such a common experience that I loose count of them on a daily basis. When others make a mistake and I am hurt in the process, how do I equalize the “ledger” when I feel there is an uneven “score” in our relationship?
Forgiveness and Grace. That is what sets things right. Alexander Pope said in An Essay on Criticism that “To err is human, to forgive divine…All people commit sins and make mistakes. God forgives them, and people are acting in a godlike (divine) way when they forgive.”
When others make a mistake, we win by being gracious…not by holding them accountable.
Thanks for listening.
