On a recent trip through Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (travelling to Indianapolis), I experienced an interesting situation. As I repacked my bags with all the items they make us send separately through the scanners, a gentlemen tapped me on the shoulder and suggested that I had his computer. What he did not realize was:
- I was in a huge hurry
- I pay close attention to every item I send through the scanner
- He was wrong
But fortunately, I took a deep breath and took another look. We had the same size, shape, color, and model of PC. We had the same Intel stickers…and the same dent in the lower right corner. So, we powered them up and discovered he was right. Our computers had somehow been switched inside the scanner.
Life moves at a high rate of speed. We carry a lot of responsibilities on our shoulders. But, we need to learn how to stop long enough to take a second look when prompted.
Thanks for listening.
