A friend of mine confessed “I don’t remember what it’s like to not know what a mouse is.” He continued by saying “I am better at solving problems than explaining them to people who don’t understand how to use their computer.”
For example, he had a person who confidently blamed the network for their technology snafu. He said “I can’t figure out how to convince [them] that it’s not the network. They are adamant that it’s my fault. I need a new angle.
That is often the root of our miscommunication. We keep saying the same thing over and over without recognizing that the person can’t comprehend our point-of-view.
Do you have a communication impasse with anyone? Do you need a new angle?
Thanks for listening.
