Most people are making it up as they go.
For most of our jobs, there are no standards manuals. There is no easy way to check our work. And, without a rule book, it’s hard to follow the rules. (For the innovators and creators out there, this is great news, of course.)
So, how do we get better at our craft / profession / career? Notice what is working in the real world and try to figure out why. Apply it to your work. Then repeat.
Teach yourself to discern the difference between good and bad…between what is truly useful versus what is “good enough”.
After you learn, speak up. Noticing doesn’t work if you don’t care enough to take action.
Thanks for listening.
