I missed posting yesterday, but for good reason. We celebrated my grand-daughter’s first birthday. Nearly 30 family and friends came from far and wide (some from out of state) to join in the occasion. My daughter hit a home run with her home-made meal and treats.
After lunch, the mad-fest began as presents were opened. Even though Evie will never remember the event, everyone poured out their love and appreciation to her. We didn’t care that she liked the wrapping paper better than our gifts…and we all coo’d when she made a whopping mess of the chocolate cupcake especially prepared for her.
Our Heavenly Father pours out His love over us in a very similar way. He gives us extravagant gifts that we are unable of comprehending. He smiles and continues to love us when we make a huge mess of those gifts. Then, He cleans up after us when we wander away from that mess…chasing the next adventure.
Today is the day to stop working and give Him a big hug in return.
Thanks for listening.
