I have a friend who is a great leader…but only after he throws the switch.
What I mean is this: He loves people so much that he forgets to lead. He hangs out with the team…shares fun life stories…and cherishes his interaction with them.
When he throws the switch, he is “on”. He takes control…carries a clear vision…and invests and encourages everyone on the team. He really is a fantastic leader and a joy to be near.
But sometimes, he gets distracted and too casual with the group. He forgets to throw the switch. Then, another leader (usually the one above him) has to step in and throw the switch for him.
Do you ever get distracted and forget to “throw the switch” on being a leader? We must be intentional and not miss that vital moment when the team needs us to step up and lead.
Thanks for listening.
