I recently talked about the massive project last week (chilled Martinelli’s, water, and twinkies for 16,000 people at 9 campuses) and shared with you a few of the frustrations. Here is a picture from another disaster moment – I opened a box truck to find a pallet of products spilled and broken all over the truck!
It would be easy to think that the entire project was filled with chaos. However, for every unexpected obstacle we faced, there were multiple God-sized rescues to match it. In fact, I’m looking back and seeing more every day:
- There was the moment we ran out of pallets. It was a crisis that threatened to stop the project. However, we stopped to pray and pallets arrived within 15 minutes!
- There was the moment that my son Kenny and his friend Anthony arrived to help when I most needed extra muscle. I had thought I could handle the job alone, but quickly discovered that I was in over my head. Kenny and Anthony dug me out of a mess.
- There was the moment that I realized I was short on leaders and volunteers…and had run out of time to look for more. But God had people coming from everywhere to help.
I am grateful to realize that I have a heavenly father who cares about every aspect of the projects I am given. Whenever the enemy of my soul forms a battle-line against me…my Father stands before me and protects me from harm. The battle must still be fought, but I know the outcome. Spiritual warfare in a project is called “Project Warfare.”
And, everything made sense to me as I watched the weekend unfold. It was a magical moment when all 9 campuses cheered and celebrated what God has done for us…and it was obvious why Satan created such obstacles throughout the project. He was not happy with the outcome.
The next time you encounter Project Warfare…remember why it exists. Obstacles remind us that we have an enemy and he wants to fight back. But we are not alone!
Thanks for listening.
