After 10,000+ people from 12Stone Church gathered in the Gwinnett Arena this past Friday, we faced a huge clean up project. We had to gather all our equipment and supplies and vacate the building that night.
I was again reminded how important cleanup is to the overall project. Project and Event Planners tend to expend all our energy in planning and delivering the event…and forget to plan an exit strategy. (I recently wrote this post about cleaning up after an event)
Key point: The plan to “gather and return” equipment after the event is just as important as the “gather and deliver” plan before the event. (After all…we needed it to be in place and working on Sunday morning!)
Plus, I would like to give a huge shout of affirmation for our outstanding facility team, who worked until 2am the next morning to transport everything back to our main campus. These men and women served incredibly well…long after everyone else was at home and in bed. They were truly amazing – serving with a smile the entire time!
Thanks for listening.
