This past Tuesday, I had planned to get an early start moving some trailers. I had the truck and equipment ready to go as soon as I left the house.
But, when I awoke, I immediately knew there was a problem. I had left the trailer keys on my desk at work…which added a good 30-40 minutes to my project. I began steaming inside my head over the setback.
After I got rolling down the road, I realized that this ‘negative event’ truly had a positive perspective to it.
- I awoke with the knowledge I needed, and was saved from wasting another hour by finding out later that I forgot the keys
- I awoke 40 minutes early…and there was no real lost time in the day
When you encounter a setback, can you change (re-frame) your perspective…so that you see the positive rather than the negative?
Thanks for listening.
