If you are a leader, Scripture says to lead with a constant and earnest effort to accomplish your mission (Romans 12:8). But my greatest spiritual gift is not leadership. My greatest gift is administration. Perhaps you (or someone you know) is similarly wired?
The gift of administration is designed by God to help guide people and processes in organizations such as the church or business. We organize, direct, and implement plans to lead others to the goals and objectives of the leaders above us.
Administration is a gift intended to help progress, not impede it. It is a gift meant to make things smoother and easier. (Of course – everyone would agree with that statement!)
However, those of us who have this gift are in danger of using it to protect the system from our leaders rather than for our leaders. Somehow, we begin to believe that it’s our job to hold our leaders accountable rather than to embrace their goals to take new territory. When that happens, we become the major obstacle to our organizations future growth.
Use your gift of Administration to release your leader. Do not impede or slow them with your fears, concerns, and “devils advocate” ideas.
Thanks for listening.
