Last week, I was running in the neighborhood and all I could think about was how much I wanted to quit. As much as exercising is good for me…I just can’t maintain consistency at it. So I was a good ways out of shape.
About halfway though the neighborhood, I passed by a father and son throwing the Frisbee. Somehow, I courageously decided to keep running past them, Probably just to save face. I figured I could start walking once I turned the corner.
It wasn’t until I passed them for the return trip that I noticed that the boy had artificial legs. That change of perspective led to a decision to keep running, no matter how tired I became.
The next time you get tired and discouraged…when you are thinking about quitting…consider those who might wish to be in your place. There are many who would give anything to have an opportunity to be as tired and exhausted as we are.
Thanks for listening.
