This past Friday night, I officiated the wedding of the daughter of one of my oldest and closest friends. I have watched her grow and mature since our families first became friends…I think she was about 2 years old. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by. She grew up so quickly.
It made me start thinking about another wedding. It was just 5 years ago that this friend officiated my own daughter’s ceremony. It seems like only yesterday, but since that time my daughter has:
- Obtained a Master’s Degree
- Moved to Boston, where her husband graduated from Law School
- Moved back to Atlanta, where he passed the bar exam
- Had a beautiful baby girl
Yep. Time flies. And it’s speeding up every day.
The key to surviving this madness is to live without regrets. Mistakes (especially the ones that lead to lifelong regrets) can snowball on us and become major issues in a blink of an eye. The only way to survive this time acceleration is to keep short accounts. Today may be all we have.
Live each moment as though there is no other one to follow.
Thanks for listening.
